Part 1 · Interview. The examiner asks you and your partner questions in turn about your life, opinions and experiences, there's no interaction with each other here, so answer directly and develop your answer with a reason or example rather than a short factual reply. At C2, the questions can be more searching than at lower levels, but they are still personal, about your life, opinions and experiences.

Part 2 · Collaborative task. The interlocutor shows you and your partner a set of five photographs on a theme. First, the interlocutor selects two or three of the photos and you discuss a question together for about a minute. Then you discuss all five photos together and reach an agreement on a second question, for about three minutes.
Part 3 · Long turn and discussion. You and your partner each receive a related but different cue card, a short question with three connected ideas to develop, and speak alone for about two minutes each. Your partner then gives a brief comment on what you said. After both long turns, the interlocutor leads a follow-up discussion extending the same themes, asking you both broader, more abstract questions for several minutes, about ten minutes total for the whole of Part 3.
